Hello all, I am wondering if anyone has any good ideas for what I should "sell" through affiliate banners on my site. My site has video games, tech stuff, and funnies. I am targeting the 18-30 or so male range. I currently am a member of CJ and I'm trying Gamefly and ThinkGeek, without success. Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking of trying PC magazines or Maxim, but don't know who to go through for that. I'm just mainly trying to get ideas for other things I can try to promote for this age range. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
some great offers for your audience can be found at Maxbounty they have the PC mag and other free mag offers.. plus some great freebie tech offers.
CPAE and Hydra also have some great easy signup offers. all of these including Maxbounty and azoogle are part of my top 5 CPA affiliates.
Tryy www.friendcodes.com they are a gaming website with over 13,000 members and I don't think it costs that much to advertise there. Another great gaming site is gonintendo.com they get tons of hits per day.
Great solution. You can try us to solve 2 of your problems. I suggest that you try marketing credit cards to your visitors -- we have credit cards with a variety of benefits including entertainment rewards. We also have an affiliate program for magazines, over 250,000 magazines with TOP NOTCH PAYOUT WITH WORLDWIDE SHIPPING. You can't find a better program!
Try CPA campaigns. Look into Maxbounty, ClickBooth, Azzogle and so on. Maybe free gaming mags (as somebody else pointed out) or free consoles (Xbox, PS3 and so on) will work (btw: check the PS3 campaigns - I have them on Clickbooth and are pretty hot now)
If I can make a suggestion other than WHAT you can sell, consider using something other than banners. Banners on CPA/CPS return the lowest conversion rates and ultra low click rates. Once you the find the WHAT you want to advertise, try using text links, or better yet, give a mini-review and perhaps personal recommendation for the sponsor and put a banner/text link at the bottom of your review. You'll see far greater results.
Yes, JP Sauve is correct and offered a good advice, you can get better results with text links. But I wouldn't eliminate banners. I would use them both (not the same campaign)
Hello Firegirl I took a quick look at your site GeekGods.net. There are a few things i'd like to mention that you could improve to get more traffic and thus sales. I liked the site layout and the colors. Very geeky. Your page rank and alexa rank are pretty low currently. You need to work on increasing that. Link pop could be one way to work on it. Try Text Link Ads There are NO RSS Feeds? People cannot remember a whole lot of sites that they surf. you can provide them with RSS feeds so that they can back to your site whenever there is something new that you have posted. Since your site is made in joomla, you could easily find an RSS module for your feeds. Monetize your RSS feeds. Once you have your feeds in place you can monetize your feeds, Feedburner and Text Link Ads (again!) Feedvertising could be good options that you could look into, for making money. The forums are pretty dead, frankly. It gives a feeling of not much action on the site. Though we all know, many of us are lurkers than posters, but i think an empty forum works out to be detrimental. Keep putting in posts of the latest news of the various game consoles or the games released in the forums. I also agree with all that has been said in the above posts, a review on the product you are trying to sell would work in convincing a person who might be slightly interested. My two cents...
Thanks for the feedback Romasha. I have been using Text Link Ads for some time now. And I am using Joomla so I will be able to enable RSS feeds pretty easily. As for my forums, I just upgraded to Joomla, so I lost all of my existing posts from a forum I was using on a different kind of database. Couldn't transfer it over. So, my forums will steadily have to be built up again over time. I will try and implement some of your other suggestions, thanks!
How about "Free Ipod," "Free PS3," etc? There are plenty of those on AzoogleAds ( < aff link ). You can put all kinds of offers into rotation and see what works best. I suggest getting a system in place that tracks where the converting traffic comes from, also, so you can PERFECT your targeting with time. I agree with what JP Suave said about using text links. Adding to that, I read recently that if people see a company's banner a few times first, they will later click a text link ad for that company something like 300% more often. Something utterly ridiculous like that. It sounds crazy but it makes sense! Oh, and how much have you made with that FireFox referral button?
You can try clickbooth, they pay best in the industry. They have good exclusive offer and they pay upto $325 per lead.
For the best earnings I advice you to promote video poker, slot machines and other gambling games. Your users can play for fun and for money if they want. If you are interested pm me and I'll tell you more
