Look out Googs comes MSN search

I searched DP for "http://www.live.com/" couldn't find anything. If there has been a thread started on this I apologize.

MSN never stops amazing me. Billy has been a sleeping dog when it comes to searching. I think that MSN will become the next "search" super power.

"Live search" I am hearing the buzz...guaranteed to rival Googs? Apparently, there is some very complexed math behind their algo. MSN is the only one that has a chance in hell to rival the Google, IMHO.

Please, I'd love to hear more from MSNer's and Googler's alike about live.com. Is this the next one? Will marketing to SE's change? Is this another algo we need to study?

    Cheers,

    H

    That’s just another ordinary re-branding.
Live.com is fully matching search.msn.com algorithm.

But I wonder when MSN will deliver traffic like Google and Yahoo. My answer is probably never. So, I don't think MSN will become the next "search" super power.

They’re putting all efforts on "Microsoft Vista - Live Search" tie.
It won’t be old "Windows - IE" trick, but still can make some major impact on search engines apportionment.

Easy now :), think about Billy, his work with children and stronghold on the browser market. In fact, I think Google is taking Microsoft to court over installing the MSN search in every new copy of explorer. If you really think about it who has more power, Googs with it's robust search facility OR Microsoft with Total dominance in OS and growing desire for search power. Your statement may be correct but I am one to never say never!

My feeling is that Billy has not been aggresive for many years because his hands are tied after being sued. FACT: If Bill Gates dropped a $1000 bill on the sidewalk it would cost him money to stop and pick it up. If anyone has the technical and financial resources to do it, this is the guy. I just performed a couple of identical searches at G and Live to see how the results compared. Try it, see what you think honestly returns more meaningful (relevant) results.

Oh ya, also some believe that the latest "Bad data Push" at Googs was engineered by Billy's boys .

I gotta feeling something BIG is up in SE marketing with this!!

I love microsoft rebranding. They are really trying hard. Today when checking my gmail I noticed an ad for Live.com. I have posted this on my blog www.imnotadoctor.com I found it very interesting.

MSN is definitely a force to contend with... and they seem a bit quicker to get new sites in their results than google....

I think that people are still a bit frustrated with everything being microsoft that they are happy to use just about any other service.

Wouldn't be surprised though if MSN continues to creep up in search share.

I wouldn't underestimate MSN search. It'll be pushed upon everyone using Vista and IE7 until they choose another search engine.

I actually found out about the finer points of this on a very popular high tech radio station today. The Guru they were interviewing was swearing that the complexity of this algo will rival G .

I am not a out and out Google basher, but I think that their market share needs to be challenged in the interest of all webmasters. I feel it would be very positive indeed, IMO!

Compared to all other SEs I have no doubt that G still yields the most consistant, finest results, but sometimes I feel as though G is a bully in the school yard. They actually have the ability to completely "turn off" the web on webmasters and that just doesn't seem right to me.
