Looks like they buy ADWORDS, do you?

    Are they using multiple domains/subdomains?

At least you are in the top 10

Don't bitch too much or they will remove you altogether, I have evidence that they will do that.

This time of the year it is a bit lower- during the peak buying season for shoes we get 20-40 visits a day for the term.

Snitch Baby, you have not answered my question, did that first search have many subdomains from one company and do they buy adwords?

im not sure if the spam pages have adwords. I'm the only wrestling gear site that doesn't actively participate in them though.

It isn't about my site being in the top ten- it is about the other sites that get screwed over because of that garbage. Not just in my industry, in others as well. I could care less about my competition, but its still pathetic results.

Well I don't want to toot my own horn, but I published a website on that subject and took a lot of heat from just about everyone in the trade when it first came out.

www.webcenter.squarespace.com Now a lot of folks (Blogs), websites are linking to it because it is not such a shock since this site has been out since 3/2004

Major SE writers are now writing about the redirection and the paid inclusion issues.

So I am not going to disagree with you.

I am just trying to find out exactly what your complaint is, everyone has been complaining since the "so called Florida update" (ADWORDS UPDATE).

I think they care about the first 1-10 results, after that it is a free for all.

Affiliate links and diluted search results to force ADWORDS to be purchased.

All my keywords seem to do pretty well without buying AdWords space.

Danny Sullivan just did a study on how much of a search result page is paid links, Google came out on top at 50% of the SPACE on the page were paid links (ADWORDS).

You can see his articles on paid inclusion at www.searchenginewatch.com

He covers these issues and is working for real reform in the industry (GUIDELINES AND RULES for labeling and separation of paid verses organic results).

Easy enough to figure out why too.

The people that pay for inclusion will also pay for links- and SEO. So they will generally be higher than others.

Then you also get the people that don't pay for adwords and can do SEO by themselves and show up just fine.

Danny is trying to force the SE's to establish standards, fair labeling of paid verses organic listings.

Being fair to their customers (webmasters) and giving a true search to those doing searches so they are not fooled into clicking into affiliated (SE partners) advertising programs.

The surfer being decieved is where the line needs to be drawn, the FTC gave the SE's guidelines to follow, if they continue to have a hard time with these issues, laws will be drafted to force them to play fair, I say it is about time.
