I've often wondered this myself. I've never seen an Adwords credit either.

I think that TECHNICALLY he isn't violating TOS since he's telling people NOT to click a button. However, there is that little thing about drawing undue attention to the ad. Basically, he's in a VERY grey area that I am positive that Google would not agree with, but skates right on the edge of their TOS.

Its an appalling ctr considering that there isn't much else on the page for visitors to click. I would imagine that he'd easily pull a 20% ctr if he just put normal ad units on there without all the arrows and reverse psychology stuff. And he'd stay within the TOS. It would kinda render his site name useless though.

Here's an interesting thought. What if he had a page of content and only the red button, with the ad on it, without all the "do not click here" and arrows. Do you think that would keep him on the right side of the TOS?

His CTR probably sucks so bad today only because of the increased traffic from DP alone. Because I highly doubt that anyone coming from DP is clicking on the ad. He probably has a pretty good CTR on other days.

    I've seen much worse.

Well, at least he was smart choosing red for the button.

    Isn't red Google's banning color?

What does this keyword pay? 37 clicks just today? thats friggin ridiculous. Thats the kind of crap I am talking about. No wonder i leave the content network off in Adwords:mad:
