All that I can say is "BLACK HAT FTW YEAH!!!!!" Hahaha I love it! When are people going to learn how to analyze a site and figure out that the majority of sites that are ranked on the front page for competitive search terms are not doing "white hat"? If you want to rank, you have to manipulate. There is toooo much data with in the big G's algo to determine what site is the best for a specific term. Stop wasting time complaining about search results and start figuring out how to do it yourself. If I could tell you a simple easy way to throw up a single page site and get it #1 on MSN for the search term you wnat would you do it? Of course you would because you want the traffic. So lets stop complaining and start gaining folks.

They could overlook some "not so important" keyword to their eyes.

Ive noticed that some spammer sites with a .pl extension have been coming up lately for all kinds of keywords. Don't click on them cause they try to load a trojan virus.

Can't get away from spam. Just hope your sites wade above it.

True! I have also seen that. In my post earlier, I posted a link that had a long tail keyword in it, but now I am getting the same spam for MAJOR keywords. I mean, MAJOR keywords like loans, bad credit etc. Heck Yahoo has better results right now than Google!

I'd written a somewhat lengthy response in this thread earlier today but the power went out before i'd submitted.
    (weather is great+ around here!)

Anyways, i decided to again look into the results for the search (from the original post):

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&gl=us&q=loans+for+people+with+bad+credit

I'm displaying 100 & there's quite a few .edu domains returning on my search, leave it @ that for now.

In order to play devils advocate, this search phrase is much more likely to return spam than others. Anything credit/debt/bankrupt*/etc. related is quite spammy - pretty much regardless of where you go:

    http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=lo...credit&fr=yfp-t-305&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8

    http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=loans+for+people+with+bad+credit&go=&form=QBLH

In hindsight you will likely find much of the results are spam anyways, outside of this specific situation.

So i guess the point is, is anyone shocked that spam exists under this search phrase? Not so much, outside of sites that apply to this problem, i'm still seeing plenty of spam.

That being said i understand what some have reflected regarding frequent general spam on google...Unfortunately this ^ is a very poor example to make a point of it.

I actually don't get it? What are you trying to say that the spam in Google is not enough to make it a point? Did you even compare results from three different search engines before you posted it here? Live and Yahoo do NOT have links from bogus .edu sites that get redirted to some page with porn ads on it!? Or are you trying to imply that when it comes to Finance niche, it's all spam and nothing useful? Really, I don't get your point? Or you trying to justify that this spam is okay because it's finance niche as everyone's trying to abuse it?

Guess what? I wrote a very nice comment on MattCutt's blog and also showed him these results. I did not use any URL in the name field and simply used my name in it. He has approved a lot of comments but not mine :D

If google depends on everyone to report spam, then there is something really wrong over here.

How much does Google make off of its "search quality"? $0

How much does Google make off of AdWords? About $4 billion a year profit (2007)

Google's search quality could go down for years and they will still control the market (70% of all searches most recently?). There is zero incentive for them to continue spending money on "search quality."

Even if you do report it, the chances of sites getting banned is ZERO from my honest experience. As i said before i've been reporting (and saving urls in a master sheet) for almost 3 years and none of them is banned/adsense removed/etc. Just wondering wtf google is doing...

Maybe they are working everyday on "search quality" - but the spam we see everyday is just insane. Spammers/Black hatters are wining this battle, no doubt about it.

Recent Google Ranking Updated Seems google more given priority sub domain and inner pages with keywords base url. i show lot of links on first page. and also google dropped home page importance.

    Thanks

Exactly which "recent" update are we talking about here? I have not really seen a major recent update in Google.

Contrary to what you've experienced, I did use the spam reporting feature before to complain about a site that is blatantly copying my site content. And it works. Took almost about a week and the offending site was removed from search index.

That makes sense. If its something really bad like copying content, then they remove it. But probably most cases they just move onto the next complaint.

Cool for you :) I did the same last month and AGAIN received a stupid email forwarding me to a formal complaint... But it's great the tool is useful for someone.

Yet, we've been discussing the spam and how the spam report simply doesn't work. As i said, 3 years reporting spammy sites and all of them indexed and some with adsense!
