Longtail for Content

I'm actually going to try to make some money out of content network ads. I have things going well right now with search ads, and site-targeted ads, but have the content network shut off for the search text ads.

I'm going to start campaigns targeted directly to the content network. I know about low conversions etc., and think I can manage and monitor better with separate campaigns/adgroups.

But my question is... if I'm doing content targeted ads, do I need as extensive list of keywords as I have for the search network? I chase long-tail words for search b/c general terms are so expensive. But I can't figure out how google would really be able to distinguish much between the general terms and the long tail terms for placement on the content network.

Lets just say I was targeting to get an ad to appear on this particular page. (I'm not talking site-targeting, just trying to get ads on a general group of pages). Would my keywords be "webmaster forum" or "adwords" or "adwords forum" or a long-tailer like "adwords content targeting keywords"?

Know what I mean? Should I import all of my longtail terms into a content campaign, or is more general going to give about the same results?
