i have travelled on train recently, was in it for 40 hours. landed on the train on 11th evening, stayed all day all night for the 13 and then about 10am in the morning i reached my home. too long i guess. the entire 13-14, i feel like i was on the train. now am pretty relaxed. how long you have been on a train, in a streach!
I travel on a bus for almost 2nights and 3 days. Went to New Hampshire travel for DFW Area. That was 2yrs ago and if i take another long trip i will definitely take the train.
bus is a tough one, i sleept for almost 35 hours in that 40 hrs travel, in the bus if i have to sit all day all night, it would be almost hell!
Trains!?! When I was 13 I was on an old style called the "Prairie Dog Express" out of winnipeg, You rode for 2 or 3 hours turnned around and went back, it wasn't bad but it made me feel sorry for the old timers back in the day. I did ride on top of a train through the mountains from Kamloops to Revelstoke before and I don't advise any body to do that terrifying and dirty. Bus! I traveled between campbell river bc and thompson manitoba three times and that took 3 days each time. No Fun at all, last time was 2 years ago and never again!!!
"53 Hours" about 5-times over the years... Too many stops for my tastes but that's the way it goes... When I was living in Los Angeles and taking time to go back to go back home that's how long it took... I spent a lot of my time in the Smoking Car, you meet lot's of interesting people there and hear some really interesting stories.. haha
I just finished a 16 hour bus trip from San Jose, Costa Rica to Panama City, Panama. And came back on the bus! I won't do it again. I would have preferred a train, but they don't exist here! At least on a train you can get up, walk and if you are fortunate to have a sleeping car, well you get the idea!
About 4 hours, on the TGV. Could happily spend an entire day on that thing I'd take a train over a bus or plane any day.
I took a train from Toronto to Vancouver a few years back, it took 3 days but I quite enjoyed it. When I was 3 we took a train from Montreal to Vancouver but I don't remember much.
I think around 24 hours when I was travelling through India for 3 months, the train is certainly an experience there but travel is slooooow, with a capital S.
i have been on train more than once for that long, once i was in the train for 48 hours, that was a long time back. recently i started taking flights, but then planes are not available on every route, have to go to a bigger city to take the flight. but yes, it make me very very tired!
27 hours is also a long time, every journey that takes more than 24 hours has it's own problems. you need to brush, you stay without bath, then the toilet problems , anyways, journeys has to be done, can't avoid them
30 minutes, that's very less. i guess it was a real fast train, else you have covered a real small distance. usually i prefer my bike over any other transport, but then 40 hours train journey can't be made on a bike!
