The title is one of the most important seo factors for a title. Which one do you consider a better option: - choosing a short title for an article. The article will fit a bigger number of searches, but the competition will be higher. - long title. The articles are ussually written with specific range of searches in mind, ussualy the competition is smaller on that "niche" but the number of related searches is smaller. Which one do you think is the best? Short or Long Tail keywords?
I don't bother about whether it is long or short as long as it is catchy and contains your targeted keywords...
getting more click after gain a top position in SERP long title is good . All read the title only if its more clear then will click otherwise ignore an go for another. This from my experience
During the initial stage, it would be a good option to go for long tail keywords. But as the site develops, slowly the trend should lean towards short tail keywords in order to get more traffic.
I reccomend trying both and checking your stats in a month to see which pages are getting more entries
Short title with valuable keyword makes the difference ! I normally use short title's with related tags .
Both, the title should suit the article and not so focused on seo, while its suggested that titles are inportant you should just go with whats best for that particular article. Sometimes 3 words, sometimes 10 words. Especially as many people do some searches like?: "how do i paint my house blue with a toothbrush in one day?" <-just an example People are not always searching just 2 words.
I agree, I think it depends on what the article is about, you should worry about that first and SEO second. You will get better, faster results with long tailed keywords but may come more if the title is broader, I guess it depends on your goal, your niche and your competition.
Long tail keywords are easier to rank for but provide lower traffic than short tail keywords. That is clearly up to you to decide yourself however I prefer ranking 1st for a long tail keyword rather than 10th for a short tail keyword
Try to keep it within 240 characters, and make it as specific as possible. This is going to be your best bet (it's always worked for me).
I guess a long title is better as long as it is relative with your website content I did go some places up on google after I changed my title with some extra keywords.
I think long titles are good to rank but having very less traffic. but if you catch many long terms you will get more benifit.
That is well stated! As I was reading down, I was about you state the same thing. Too much focus is placed on SEO when it comes to providing quality content and titles. I have found in the years that I have been doing blogs and websites that either short or long titles can rank and provide equal amounts of traffic and SEO. You can also find webmasters that will argue one way or another. If you go only one way or another, you will be limiting yourself too much. If you want all titles to be short and you limit yourself to two words, sometimes it just will not make sense. Vary both your content and titles and you will see steady reliable traffic, which is the key to a profitable blog or website.
Short titles are the best because search engine's consider short titles the better ones.. Even in the SERPs only 70 to 75 characters will be shown. So its better to go with short titles ......
