Is there any benefit in using long tail keywords on the Content Network if you are covering all bases with short tail? e.g. you have an adgroup with the following: [car insurance] "car insurance" car insurance Is there any point in also having: [discount car insurance] "discount car insurance" discount car insurance If so, why? Thanks, Jon
Google bot needs tightly grouped keywords in order to find the most relevant sites on their content network. In my opinion the long tail keywords will not help here... It's better to start with most popular keywords in your niche and than filter all the non profitable sites out. Track and improve
So are you suggesting that adding the discount car insurance keywords will not bring more traffic if it was placed in the same adgroup?
use a mix of 1, 2 and 3 words maybe 4 if absolutely needed to distinguish what the product is. insurance car insurance cheap car insurance cheap car insurance online <<< Pointless obviously they are online
I think the best way to compete in long tail keywords is via the tnx.net network. I've been a client for 6 months now- with fantastic results!
Since they figure out a theme for the content network based on the first 50 keywords in the adgroup, (they literally ignore the rest), going too long tail will not benefit you at all. The content network is a totally different mindset from the search network and involves a whole new skill set.
