Hi Guys, I would like to rank for pc support online and others etc. It is best to hit them straight away or go for long tail keywords like uk online computer support or IT online helpdesk uk. Than just IT support and computer helpdesk. What would you do? Get ranked for lots of long tail or concentrate on just a few high competitive keywords?
Hi scott2342, honestly I like the challenge of high competitive keywords. I don't think long tail keywords are a completely waste of time, but it depends on context, but sincerely I would like to shine with the high competition keywords, that bring me a lot of visitors. However, something localized like "uk online computer support" and akin variations, can be a very good keywords for ranking slowly but tenaciously. So: if you have a very very high competitors, consider the long tail keywords stratagem, but if you can afford the top, go straight for your way. What you think instead?
Yes I like the idea of just targeting the high competitive keywords however it will be very difficult. I may start with with a few lower searched keywords first then build towards the more competitive ones. I think adding the area like UK etc may allow me to rank a bit better
Yes, high competitors are really a pain to fight, and try to raise up from the bottom can be a smart and inexpensive trick
Given that it is easier to rank with the long tail keywords, it is a good tactic to begin by trying to rank for these through content and then leverage those rankings to take on the competitive keywords. The good thing with local SEO is that you can actually execute a two-pronged SEO strategy; organic search and Google+ results!
