After reading about using long tail keywords for the past month I have a major problem with the results. Maybe I just don't get it? Lets see Ok so the idea is to find a LTK with high search volumes with very low competition right? Let use the Google Keyword tool for Awords Broad Search Example: long tail keywords Not enough data for local search (United States) (this is BS there is no way) 5400 Global Results Seems to be enough traffic on this word but now we need to know who we are up against right? I move on over to Google and search (organic) long tail keywords and it results in 1.6 million . Now to figure out my competition for that exact phrase I add quotes "long tail keywords" and now I get 6.4 Million This doesn't seem to be a good LTK to use however here is my problem with this. Why am I having to determine the competition by using the quotes? I understand it is exact however my user will not be using quotes. Seems like the competition is the organic search result made by the user not the exact search made with quotes. If exact matches are returned in a query with out the quotes I can see how that could be a good thing. Which in turn is a good question. Seems like they should be returning exact matches before anything else. Even if it goes by rank.
just imagine if you have a shopping which sell wedding dress. whats you think which is best "shopping" or "wedding dress shopping" from my experience LTK is always business oriented and and easy to bring website at first page from LTK with respect to small keyword phrase .
depends on the niche...in some niches long tail keywords make wonders you need to think if the keyword you are using is actually used by someone
You have no idea what you read. Did you not see the part where I stated the LTKW is getting 5400 global searches a month. Seems like it's actually used by someone?
I have the best luck with long keywords or small phrases. Maybe it's because that's the way that I search.
Do you care to share a little you might know? Or care to address the questions on the post and not just tell us how your this good luck guy. I do not think people are taking these post very serious. Did you know for some of us. This is all we do. We do not claim to know it all so that is why we post things like this. IT is a sharing point and knowledge builder. Not for the lucky guy (maybe) to tell us how he does with out sharing. Anyone can post anything but can you really show us something lucky "awundrin".
You know what is a great way to test your LTK theories? Squidoo and Hubpages. LTK is mostly related to on-page SEO, so you can try different keyword combinations (with similar content) and see who and how people are visiting your pages. Apply what you learn to your own sites.
