Some of my posts are starting to get very long. Should I leave the whole post or give the first 5 or 6 sentences and make people click to read the whole post?

    Suggestions? Recommendation? Experiences?

    Thanks,
    chad

Really depends on the blog layout. On my Technology News site, I only show a quick summary, then make you click on, however on my SEO site, my Advertising site and my Apple News site, I do full posts... For the top-to-bottom style of those three sites, full posts seems better, however, for my technology news, where I want more than just the news articles on the page, I find the summary version works better, makes the page shorter.

Another option, is to limit the number of posts shown per page instead.... good luck, and happy blogging.

I'm not sure if you are running ads or not, but if you are then there are some other considerations. In cases where I have blogs that run ads I only display a summary on the homepage. Yes, from a user-friendlieness standpoint it isn't as good, however if the person visits two pages, they see more ads that they could click on.

Having summaries also allows you to post more "headlines" to the homepage without the page becoming too large.

I disagree on the userfriendlyness part. I mean, I'd prefer to read a site with summaries (as opposed to sites with entire content on the entire page), then only click on to the ones I am interested in, it's less scrolling work. ;)
