Are long keyword URL's bad when it comes to search engine optimization.

For example if I am selling a blackberry pearl cellphone online and my url looks like this:

    brand-new-blackberry-pearl-8110-original-box-pack-bill-warranty.html

This is for an online store.

    Await replies.

It may look bad when someone searches for it unless that whole thing is the keyword but I doubt that is the case, why so long?

Long url can hurt your site ranking if you done it too much. There are many blog which using long urls due to their post title name length is already long and their site has not being penalized. However, if your urls seem spamming by repeat some keyword again and again.

    For example

http://www.domainname.com/category-...arl-8110-original-box-pack-bill-warranty.html - this one look a bit harsh but should be fine.

http://www.domainname.com/category-name/blackberry-pearl-and-blackberry-black-cheap-blackberry.html - this one absolute spammy and can hurt your site ranking somehow.

Try to have the page named what you want to rank for. Also, I wouldnt use dashes.
