Hi every one. I will be off to Thailand, Pattaya in a weeks time and was wondering what/how do you pass the time on long haul flights. I am not a great sleeper on a plane and do not like taking tablets. A part from wearing loose under wear! do you have any tips that will make my journey more pleasant

    Cheers

    Play "10 worst things."

e.g. 10 worst things to hear on an plane
    1. Are there supposed to be flames coming out of the engines?
    2. Why are the stewardesses putting on parachutes?
    etc. etc. etc.

Take laxatives with you (just in case)
    Take natural sleeping tablets
Take Visine, or some other kind of eye irritation drops
    Take moisturizer for your face
Drink lots of water before, and on the plane
Be prepared to be bored out of your brain and be unable to sleep

What helps me is my Bose QuietComfort head phones. The jet lag mostly comes not from the time change but from the noise of the jets. So the head phones, a couple of good magazines and you should be ok.

    You can do meditation! Haha.
Last time we flight back to my hometown, my husband just setted his mobilephone as flight mode and then all the signals would be shielded. Of course he didn't close it. Then he could read ebooks stored in it. I'm not sure if your flight allow you to do like that.

I have kind of a ritual when I fly, to keep things interesting. I stop at a bookstore in the airport and buy a paperback. Most likely it's a title I never would have thought to purchase otherwise, since the selection in airports is a bit limited. But then I sit back and read, and I learn and enjoy (usually) something I would otherwise have missed.

Keep moving every so often (at least once an hour) by walking up and down the isle. Its important not to sit for long periods at a time.

If you get too hot take off your top and dab some water on your arms and face.
