Long filename problem

I have 5 files I need to upload, but they have very long filenames, my computer won't let me rename them, when I right-click, I don't get the same options as a file with a shorter name. I only get "select", "open", "send to".

FTP says "A buffer is too small". Anyone have any ideas what I can use to rename them or how I can upload them with ftp? They're simple php files, but the creator decided to stuff the filename with a jillion keywords. :(

I tried and notepad says "access is denied!"

I figured out a way, the total characters in the path was preventing me from renaming the files in DOS. I moved the files to have a shorter path.

Would this be by any chance files on a company domain server / cor-porate network it sounds as if settings are screwy.
