Note: Site is not Mozilla related. I've had a web site there since 1997. Mozilla came later. Site name: "Firefox News" Focus: News, reviews, opinion pieces, etc. on the entertainment industry, with science fiction fandom as the target readership. Please look at the site before designing logo. Need: Two similar logos, one one 486X60 for use on the site and one that is square. The latter will be used on coffee cups, t-shirts, business cards, etc. Both versions of the logo should obviously use very similar elements. Do not want: Anything trademarked in the logo. Also, no foxes, no globes, and no yellow stars. (The former two for obvious reasons of not wanting to look like Mozilla. The latter because may they remind users of a certain web site in a bad smell with fandom at the moment.) Want: Nice, clean, distinctive logo that readers will come to recognize at a glance. URL needs to be in the logo. Please plan to send a .gif, a .bmp and .jpg plus a high-res original file of both images. Color: hex # CC3300 should be predominate color Contest ends: One week from today Terms: Work for hire -- the $75 is for all rights and the logo becomes property of Firefox News upon receipt of payment. Payment will be by Paypal. Have fun.
I like this one, but without the graphics on the right maybe? I'm looking for simple. And the pen would look better if it was more obviously a pen. Given the fact that everyone involved in the site is a writer of some sort, a pen's appropriate. And the filter over the top half probably should go. And the URL is simply firefox.org. -- Leva
Feedback as requested. This is a matter of "knowing your audience" -- "sci-fi" is somewhat of a derogatory term in many fannish circles. You'll hear it pronounced, "Sciffy" and it's not always a complimentary term. Using it in this context would make it appear that I'm a noob and an outsider. So the word "sci fi" shouldn't appear anywhere. And I honestly don't want "news and reviews" in the logo because the site will eventually have a lot more than that. Just the name of the site (Firefox News) and the URL. And the URL is firefox.org. I'm honestly looking for simple, elegant, streamline.
LOL. Funny. In all honesty, I love Mozilla -- and I'm currently using the firefox browser at this moment because Internet Explorer just sucks -- but I had the domain first. -- Leva
Not much good but I don't really have time to make them better at the moment. I might have another go later. Feedback appreciated
