Logo+ Redesign Contest - 7 Days - $50AUD via Paypal

Hi all

I am looking for a redesign and freshen up of my sites logo. I have had this style since 2003 and I feel it needs to be modernised a bit for 2010 and beyond.

Design specs are:

- The overall design of the logo is to remain the same but be of a more modern look in terms of colours and font.
- The circles are a stylisation of a wheel beadlock used in dirt speedway racing and is to remain in the logo in one way or another as it is somewhat of a signature piece for my forum.
- The winning logo will need to be able to resized to various resolutions without losing it's look
- The logo needs to be simple in terms of colours as it could be used on shirts, stickers etc.
- The actual wording is AustralianSpeedway.com, not just AustralianSpeedway
- The final image must be able to be reduced to an acceptable size for web use , again without losing it's resolution
- The final image should be a .png

Also required would be a favicon and 100x100 avatar of the final beadlock section.
The resulting file needs to be supplied as a .psd for use within Photoshop for Mac

Update: The logo must be on a transparent background to allow it to be used against different colours, therefore the edges must be smooth so's to not make them stand out.

A nice to have would be "different" logos for various parts of the site. By different I mean the same base for the site root but have Forums, Blogs, Gallery, Arcade, Groups added in smaller letters underneath for the other parts of the site.

Please be warned that I am after a very specific look as I want to retain the basic look-and-feel.

When I choose the winning entry I may be back to that designer for more forum related images, bit of an incentive maybe?)

Ah, somewhere. Been through a few hard drives since it was designed back in 2003 so I would have to go looking

I would rather see this contest out before taking it private. You are welcome to have a go within the bounds of this thread without the previous .psd as I am not sure where it currently is.

I have a personal interest in this as I am a Motorbike racer as well, a part of Queensland Motorcycle Sportsmen. I am experiencing a mental block at the moment but will try and submit an entry before the deadline.

Neta: Good try but not quite. The beadlock would need to be more "3D" to be a good representation. The all caps is fine but mixed or all lower case would be better depending on how they are used.

megaxx: Not what was after sorry, especially the beadlock which is too far from the wording and does not successfully represent what people know as a beadlock.

Both entries: AustralianSpeedway is made up of 2 words, not 3 - Australian and Speedway. I do like the idea of colouring the two words differently though, would look in some situations.

My try

 

gamelord, I like where you are going with this one, especially the beadlock. If the the beadlock was concave instead of convex with a little more angle (tilt) it would be near perfect. Not a fan of the little flames, the old logo used to have hot orange flames the whole length that I removed due to it being a bit tacky. Some form of flag would be acceptable, whether it be a chequered flag or an Australian flag. The lettering I would prefer all lower case (after the first capital) [ meaning mixed case], all lower case or all upper case. Variations on that then would help me decide better.
