I am purchasing A custom logo from a friend. Does anyone one know of a legal template I can use for the agreement. The logo is to be used on my webpage as well as onto shirts and hats.

becareful, unless the work is done as a course of his/ her employment they may own the copyright.. I suggest you search online. Any witnessed + signed statement by both parties should do anyway..

That shows that I legally own the logo with full rights to it which he designed.

Hmmm... I didn't even know you needed an agreement for this. Whenever I have someone do work for me I just ask them to email me a note saying that I have total ownership and copyright for the item.

emails can be forged + are unwitnessed..
just state clearly what the agreement is, both parties sign it + 2 independent witnesses, date it, make copies and your done. Im no lawyer, but that is legal in the UK I believe and most laws across the world are based on UK common law or have " a mutual understanding" US is prob similar to UK.
