Okay - points taken... However , when listing limited descriptions for contests, it appears that designers ask a bucket load of questions (past experience)... Detailed description, states what I want... gives you (the designer) an overview to follow, rather than shooting blanks and have your effort (original artwork) under perform against 'someone' WHO may have read the description It also makes sense to detail 'expectations', after all 'without' an idea or clue as to my requirements you are in effect traveling down that river in canoe without a paddle... sort of like: 'only dead fish swim with the stream'. This is the first time that the format I use has had a negative response, what can I say 'Opps, Whoops, Sorry, Bite-Me'; I may try it differently next time if I list another 'design contest' here, but I may just stick to sourcing writers. To be honest, the lenght of the desciption should not bother you; what should be of concern is whether you want to claim the contest 'prize money' or not... Majority of 'contest value' here are listed around $50 -$150.00, this contest is for $225.00. In reality, you are either seeking to win the contest or you are not... it is that simple. Regards. BN
In my opinion, the long description of the project is a great thing. It helps me see exactly what my clients want. I don't have to ask them any questions because everything was clear the first time around. I don't mind reading a detailed description. If someone is not willing to put some effort into reading it, I don't think he/she will have the patience to design something awesome. All I am saying is, I loved the long description, it helped me.
IMO nothing wrong with the long descreption, it just allows designer to hit the target directely, I like the way this contest is held so far..just a bit worried about my timely entry..
is this a debate or a contest? LOL.. Long descriptions comes with great prices.. I may come up with something. Thanks for the contest holder and goodluck.

COMMENTS: MONDAY 27th NOVEMBER 2006 I would like to thank all artists for the great works submitted, you made the decision a little more difficult when chosing the winner. I would like to thank those of you that submitted orginal artwork, I would also like to thank those of you who: (i.) used a 'readable' font. (ii.) picked color themes based on research, marketing and usability. (iii.) and read the description - your work was on theme and made it to short list immediately. To the contest winner "ASTERIX" - I offer my congratulations, and thanks for such a detailed and outstanding submission. CONGRATULATIONS ASTERIX!!!! During the course of the last 18 days, we have had a couple of slight hiccups, sadly a team member lost a family member and that has been our focus... supporting them in the saddest of times. I apologize for not replying to each of you personally, and will attempt to do so, over the course of this week. CONTEST IS CLOSED, WINNER AWARED Regards BN
