Hi all, I am looking to have a logo made for a small little blog network I am making. The prize is $100 via paypal. The name, Digital Crumbs. The closing date: January 21st, Noon EST The colour choices would be your own, except that the logo has to have a white background. A logo like Business Week is fine. I do think it would be cool to have a logo done up in the colours of the left canon camera: http://www.dabbledoo.com/ee/images/uploads/gadgetell/canonA1000IS.jpg but don't let that limit you if you have a better idea regarding colour choices. For me it is important that it have strong modern typography, and that the logo mean something and look like time and consideration was paid to it. I don't want a trendy web 2.0 logo that doesn't work by itself. I love this: http://logopond.com/gallery/detail/45725 I don't like this: http://logopond.com/gallery/detail/42562 The size should be similar to the size of the one on www.altscifi.com as I am using the same theme as a basis (www.digitalcrumbs.com) I will need to to scale reasonably easily though so I can include the logo or the logo and site name text in different places. The logo creator will get space on the network's about page where I will list details to contact the designer (if the designer so chooses). If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please let me know. I will give feedback on each entry. Please read all feedback to entries before submitting your own. Thanks, David
tickey - Your first try isn't very good. The logo is interesting, but the typography is horrid. The second attempt with the same logo looks much better. The logo is simple, maybe too much so, but I'll definitely consider it. With your second logo, I don't know if I like it. Feels like a weird DNA strand or something, or more like for a network services company. I would focus your efforts on maybe trying a refinement on your first concept over your second one. Thanks for entering. omellete - Sorry, I don't like this concept. The typography isn't what I am interested. Stop thinking digital from the 1960's. Modern, strong, and interesting should be the direction to aim for. Also the angled approach doesn't really say anything. Thanks for entering though, I appreciate it. supermanpi - This looks like an old concept as well. Doesn't feel modern, doesn't feel complex or interesting. Looks more like a website banner than a traditional logo. The font used is basic, and boring, the colours, or lack there of, are uninspiring. I get where you were going with different elements, but together, it just doesn't work. Sorry. b4db0y - I think the DC thing is going to be done a lot in this contest, and out of the three concepts you sent it, it is the one that might work best with some refinement. No gradients please. Work on tweaking both the logo and the font used for the text, and you might have something. The lines on the logo are too thick, and the stem on the D maybe too small. ThrillingHill - A layered DC doesn't work for me. It doesn't show creativity, doesn't speak to my original request at all. Please read what I've written in the first post. Also, please no "shiny" web 2.0 effects on text or logo please and the font used is a bit thin for what I am looking for. Thanks all, very excited.
Hi, Thanks for your feedback. I will work on the logo which you are considering. Any example might be helpful for me to understand 'not that much simple' logo. Regards
