    Logo will increase brand awareness but traffic? It doesn't have to do anything with it.

    Logo is unique identity of your brand & its like the face of your brand so yes its does affect your the traffic.
    Whenever the visitor visits your site logo is at top-left corner(std position) & viewer does scan the screen from left to right so logo will count among the many factor why viewer should further explore your site..
