    illustrator is better than photoshop in design but when adding effect photoshop is better.
    beside that, firework CS4 is ok too.

    Hey the QUICKEST and EASIEST way to make a nice animated logo is t first design the logo in photoshop then add a nice shimmer effect as described in this VERY SIMPLE video tutorial :just go to youtube and search for: "Shimmer/Shine Flash Tutorial by Creare" hope this helps

    Personally I find that photoshop has hideous animation capabilities which would need a lot of work before I went anywhere near them. I recently saw a very good tutorial about making an animated logo in Adobe After Effects that looks very professional and had a very nice finish. There's no need to satisfy After Effects' hefty price tag either - you can just use the free trial and buy if you're satisfied.
