here are samples of logos and prices paid for :

www.mahmoudelkhatib.com (logo and website design, logo for $650)
www.agamitec.com (logo and web design, logo for $ 450)
www.qataroptics.com (logo and webdesign, logo for $1300)
www.qualyshop.fr (logo and webdesign, logo for $250)

More logos can be found on this page (prices between $350 & $600):

And ofcourse our job as designers is very difficult, to be able to satisfy each client, as each one has different taste

For a small- to medium- sized company - anything between 100-1000 EUR. You have to ask for at least 3 final versions so you can choose. Also, try to ask for a real-time update of their work so you can gude 'em (this costs extra). Anyway, it's always a good investment. You can, also, always contact my company and we can work out a nice price for you.

It all depends on what skill level you're looking for and if you want the exclusive rights to it. Lots of professional logo designers are charging at least $2000 for a logo. But you can find a good one on the net for cheaper than that...way cheaper. Not that there's anything wrong with the 2k price tag.

If anyone is telling you $10, $50, or even $100...they either know something I don't know, or they're messing with those cheap designers that aren't professionals.

A $500 contest on 99designs will create plenty of amazing and creative designs, and you'll probably get them for less too.

If you have free time why not, in my opinion working on logos in free time will grow your portofolio :)

You can run a good contest on worth1000.com which will cost you around $100

People there design awesome logos and you will also have the right to choose from any of the logos.
