@Konata, thanks for the 2nd mockup of your elephant/ethnic design. We like where you are coming from with this concept, we really do. However it doesn't seem quite polished/simplified enough to make the cut for a final logo design on our site. Thank you anyway!

@miktekstudios, we really like your slick, modern design, especially the font you chose, but you are right, the design is just a bit too "general" for this website. I think another client might enjoy that design though, especially if you decrease the size of the globes. Thanks anyway!

@zamir, your minimalistic elephant head is a fantastic concept, cute, and modern. However the overall design is not quite "slick" enough for this website we believe. Thank you anyway!

@T.j Detwiler, thank you for your 2nd entry! It is much closer to the concept we were hoping for. It is a beautiful play on Thai lettering, very elegant! The only drawback for us is that it is perhaps TOO elegant for our modern consumer oriented website. However I think you could take this concept to a 5 star hotel and they might eat it up! Thank you much anyway!

@focused.on.art, thank you for your 2nd entry! We think your idea with the upside down i is very creative, but might work better if the title did not contain a y right next to it. The overall design looks smooth and professional, but it is still not quite the "feel" we are hoping for. Thank you anyway!

@logohits, VERY cute and unique! Your design was near the top of our list. The bird is cute, yet simple, and still looks professional. The colors and font are simple yet strong. We definitely feel your design is #2-3 for us. Thank you much!

@TightWad, your designs are very sharp and professional. Your design made us consider for a long time, however ultimately we decided it wasn't the "feel" we were looking for in the end. We will definitely keep you in mind for the future, though, if that's okay. =) Thank you much anyway!

We absolutely loved your latest revision, with the sizing and colors. We would still love to have this design for a backup in the future - if you accept, please PM us your price so we can send it with your tip! One of the reasons we decided against your design in the end, is that after speaking with some native Thai people, they felt many Thai users would be confused about the meaning of the logo... but if we take away those Thai letters from your design, it really takes away from your concept overall.

P.S. We had one designer PM us to say he was tired of joining contests and sometimes not winning, thus he would be losing money. We would like to share our opinion, that these contests are not always for money. These contests help artists increase their portfolio to share with future clients, and they also allow artists to inspire and be inspired by each other, which is really how art evolves. By setting deadlines and pushing artists to work quickly, these contests help artists to really push their creativity. After all, they say stress breeds creativity, and it really does. Anyway, we just want to encourage all the artists on DP to see things this way. Thank you! =)

 

What a wonderful idea! I really enjoyed viewing the entries in the contest--especially watching the elephant designs evolve! I need to hold a Logo contest, too, when I'm able and would also choose a winner and multiple runner-ups.

But I like your idea about tipping the top contestants. The artwork here is outstanding!
