Contest Logo design contest for cookery company - $35 to winner

Need a logo for a British based cooking company called Emma's Kitchen

Emma's Kitchen run cookery classes for groups and also deliver home cooked food to people's homes. They are curretly operating as "The Cookhouse Battersea" but undergoing a re-branding. Their current logo is attached which will give you an idea of their current styling.

Some ideas from the client:

"The Emma’s Kitchen logo needs to be simple, bold but friendly. It needs to work really well on the website, but also on aprons, and on the top of recipes, on bags to be sent out with my take away food service etc. Currently with The Cookhouse logo I use the 2 cherries frequently on stickers, labels and cup cake boxes etc. I would love there to be something similar within the logo that can be taken and used independently. I would like the font to be big and bold. I don’t like spidery, thin fonts".

1. Logo runs for 5 days but will extend if required
2. No clip art/copyright images please - original designs only
3. Logo must be suitable for web and print
4. Winner will be paid $35 via Paypal
5. If no suitable logo is found, we reserve the right not to appoint a winner.

I forgot to attach the current logo which I have now attached to the original post. As you can see, they currently have cherries as part of the logo so probably best to avoid these in the new logo as they are re-branding

no more cherries please. we are trying to get away from cherries as these were used in the original brand.

My Attempt

 

Sorry for the delay but here is the feedback from the client. I am extending the contest a while so any new ideas would be welcomed.

Mahbud-Ratu l- Over all this is too plain, and too simple. I do like the use of black for the writing and a touch of colour with the apple.
Borduria - I don’t like the font - it’s not clear enough. The colours are too wishy-washy.
LoganK - It’s not very me. It is too modern and not friendly enough.
Watari - I do quite like this. I can imagine it on the bib of an apron. I would like a touch of colour - perhaps on the border. I also am not 100% taken with the font of Kitchen….just something a little too modern about it…..maybe something a little big rounder and more friendly.
johnrossgd - I really like the curved shape that this forms. The red and green one looks very familiar to the Papa John pizza logo which I would like to steer away from. I quite like the black and white one - but perhaps it would be better with a tiny touch of red.
Athisa - I like the simplicity of this. I don’t like the lower case e in Emma. I would like a different vegetable as the apostrophe. I think it is meant to be a chilli, but I would prefer it to be more identifiable….and not a chilli…..perhaps a strawberry?
A-Amin - I don’t like this one at all. Would like to stay away from all the colours here.

Client is very keen on the 2nd and 3rd cvolour variations I wonder whether we could just have a look at the navy and white version with:

1. The two cherries, red and green
2. The two cherries, just with red berries, and white stalks
3. Trying exactly the same with black and white

I like the idea of the first one. I would like to see what it looks like in different colours. Could we also have a look at a different font for Kitchen. Something slightly rounder and softer?
The second one - I really like the font of Emma. I think I would prefer it not on a slant. I keep glancing at it and reading Emma’s Itchen. Could we try it in some different colours. I am not keen on the brown.

I am very keen on this one but I wonder whether we could see it in different colours? That particular red and green reminds me of pizza restaurants and take away’s - particularly Papa John’s.
