Thanks Dave. I know about the outline effect in AP but I wanted to avoid showing the outline. Maybe there is a way to fatten up the font without using an outline but I don't know what it is.

    Thanks again Speno!! :)

Yeah man, you can use the tools in the Character palette to bold your font up a bit. Highlight the font, then use the tool i've pointed out in the image below.

Also, if you add a stroke the same colour as your font you won't notice the outline too much.

Davey!! Thank you for those instructions. Great tip. I just tried it and it helped but still wasn't thick enough. I need the entire letter to have the emboss effect.
But I didn't know about Faux Bold.

    Thanks again!!

First of all, thanks to all those who participated. It was a tough decision to make as I got very great designs and concepts. I am not just saying this to complement those who entered, I am just simply stating the facts.
So, out of the two finalists KiaOra and Adamant I chose....big drum roll please....the winner is KiaOra.

Kia, please pm me your pay pal so I can pay you.

Adamant, please pm me so I can pay you the second place prize of $20.

Speno, this contest would not be great unless it had great participants. I am not talking just about the big guns (you, coolwanz, jamess, tomeek, daveyboy etc) but also the rookies. Everyone watch out for Nick252 :D. I know I already chose the winner but still, have another look at this logo below done by him. Great designs Nick252

Just to let you know that Adamant has also stolen this logo for this contest (I hope you didn't pay him yet..)

A disgrace he's prepared to jeapordize legitimate contest holder's businesses for the sake of a few dollars.

    Yikes. What a find.
To think, I spent hours on end (my choice) creating proteindude's logo.

I'm sure it's just an honest rookie mistake on Adamant's part.

Kia, did you make that world image yourself?

Hi Speno. Yes. What I did was, got a photgraph of a globe and manually traced the continents. I needed something to go by. I'm sure I'm not the only one that uses a guide for generic images such as the "world" image. The rest was easy because, as you know, it's a circle with gradiated screens added.
If a Contest Holder specifically states they want a photograph in thier banner or logo and they've supplied it, then I will use it.

I didn't know Adamant was a rookie. I thought he/she was a far better designer than I was. I can achieve the contest holder's needs but it takes longer for me to get there. I consider myself a rookie.

Thanks for pointing that out DaveyBoy. I already paid Adamant. What bugs me is the fact he didn't mention that. I asked him to say it on the thread that he got paid so you guys know I'm genuine. I paid him BEFORE anyone pointed out his "inspiration" so he should have said I paid him. Oh, well..I still got Kia to vouch for me payment wise and Jamess/Tomeek.

I must say I am dissapointed with this. I think it would have been fair if he said: "Hey proteindude, here's my entry. I copied something from someone which I will change if you like my design or the direction I am going in." I think that would have been more fair.

Thanks for pointing that out though and please pointing out these "inspirations" as it could really help the CHs plus it's also good for you as participants.

Oh I'm definitely here to vouch for proteindude. A terrific Contest Holder and an excellent buyer. I was paid extra to give another version of the logo also.

Thanks again proteindude and I'm on my way to give you an iTrader!!
