I made a deal a long time ago with myself, and that is I am gonna give feedback on both sides: positive and negative. I am not asking you to change the designs until I am close to choosing a winner. I don't like taking advantage of people so I think it's unfair to ask you to make changes if I know your design is not going to be chosen. You can change the designs if you wish but I want you to understand at this stage I am only providing feedback. Ariestoteles: thanks for the entry It is a great design: very pleasant and stylish. That globe adds a nice colour to the overall design but somehow I feel I need something just a touch more conservative or more professional looking without going overboard though. Weblazer: thanks for the changes. It certainly looks much closer to what I am after: Clean simple and stylish Opaquit: thanks for the entry. It is a simple and pleasant design. I really like the way the globe looks. On the "negative": I think it looks just a touch too crowded. For example, there are two extra dots next to the dot on i. You have one dot and then you have a globe. Perhaps, it would have been simpler if you just replaced the dot on the i with the globe. This is just a suggestion though. Kia Ora: that is a very unique and interesting concept. I like the concept very much. It looks really good. Now, for the "downside" which I can't really find one that I can easily explain, I was after something slightly more conservative, again, without going over board. I am not sure how to explain this. Perhaps make it more "business like" but so far it's the entry that gives me the most amount of trouble It looks really good, a very interesting concept and you managed to incorporate the slogan into the logo. This is a great job. I will try and show you a design of a more "conservative" look which could better explain what I am after. But I need to check with one of the designers first to see if I can use his example.
I just realised how to better explain what I mean by a more "conservative" look/feel is actually a more "corporate" image.
Dude, I am not sure where you are located and how you keep track of time in your area but my clock says it's been more than one " later on tonight" Was looking forward to your try. I noticed you had a couple of nice tries in other contests.
Thanks for the entry. So far I like yours the best. Vey pleasant shade of red, nice globe and font. I would like to see some changes HOWEVER, one of the biggest problems with running a contest is that you ask a guy to do some changes and then someone else comes up with a better design and which as a CH you like better and then you feel like an ass because you asked for changes to a design only to choose another one. So this is my dilemma at the moment with your entry. It's a very strong one (my favorite so far) but I need some changes: for example, this logo will be going on a white bag (I sell protein in some bags) and because of this, the way the word direct looks will be very hard to see. Perhaps if you used a red outline/contour. I better stop because if I ask for changes and then I choose someone else's design it would really be unfair.
Kia Ora Hello KiaOra I am still hooked on your first design. It's a great concept but not properly executed. Let me explain: the position of the globe looks good, the way you inserted the slogan looks really, really good and it's a very nice design all around. The "down side" is it's not corporate/conservative enough. For example if you used a different font (a more corporate one) and made the globe also look more corporate than it would look much much better. These instructions are very vague, as a "corporate" look can be achieved in a million of ways so that's the dilemma for me.
Hello Jamess, Thanks for the entry. This morning (my time) I was wondering if any of the big guns (CoolWanz, Speno or Raghav) would enter the competition. Now don't get me wrong everyone else, there is a lot of talent here (a lot of talented "rookies") even though I am generally particulary fond of these heavy weights mentioned above. Your design Jamess on this occasion is a little weak. On the plus side: It's got that corporate look that I am after. It has a nice globe and it's easy to read. On the other side, I was expecting something better from someone of your caliber. I somehow felt like the words don't "match", maybe somehow they are out of balance. While I like the globe and it's a pleasant design, it looks somehow a little unbalanced and perhaps the font could be more of a more "corporate" one. It's hard to explain what I mean but this is the best I can do.
Tomeek 100% right. I meant to say "I was wondering if any of the other big guns (CoolWanz, Jamess or Raghav) would enter the competition" Thanks for pointing that out Tomeek. But now that we're on the subject, what about the "Polish Rookie"? Is he going to enter this contest?
Honestly, It's bugging me too. I think it has potential but seems like something is not right. I can't put my finger on it. I like that drop thing underneath the word direct. But I think the font needs to look perhaps a little sharper somehow. You must understand I am not a designer so I don't know what the correct term is, but perhaps if you "sharpened" the outline to make it look more "corporate". The red shade also is a little plain. Maybe you need to replace it with a brighter one. One thing I don't really like even though I can't think of an alternative is the black outline. Black for some reason doesn't do it much for me. Maybe it's just a personal thing about black. But I also like this idea, this concept of yours so I am not surprised you're hooked on it.
will see...Have some projects on my head now. Besides it may be very hard to win "Polish Rookie" with other big guns...
Thanks Tomeek. Good luck with your projects. I hope you find some time for me also. Now, if I am not wrong, and I don't think I am because I was the one deciding on the winner of last competition it was a "Polish Rookie" who won it.
