Generallala thanks for the entry but this one is not close to what I'm after and hasn't taken into account any of the feedback I've already provided a little earlier.
Sorry Vimag I'm not feeling this one at all, there's far too much stuff going on there. I'm after a logo, not trying to tell a story
Thanks for the entry Tibay. The problem I see with this design is that there's still a large disconnect between the mascot and the wording. As I've mentioned previously I was hoping for something a bit more seamless where they blend together to become one, hence why I suggested the mascot leaning over the text or poking it's head out through the O in imports. Also the mascot is easily washed out on a white background which makes it impossible to use in print.
Pehulz this is a much better effort and in terms of approach. I can't say that I like the text as it looks to be fairly standard fare. The highlight/gradient works okay though, so mainly just the font used I guess. As a note to all perhaps you could experiment with different type faces for both the pet and the import. Lastly the mascot (although somewhat cute) doesn't seem to fit with the logo. If you wanted to come up with a different attempt I would perhaps try a more 3d approach where the head protrudes out on a slight angle and then do something creative with the dogs tail etc.
Thanks for all the entries guys but as I've received a very good entry from logos4all via PM I think I'll put an end to the competition and declare him the winner. Once he's completed a couple of final tweaks I'll get him to post a finished sample for all to see. Thanks again for taking part in the contest, hopefully I'll be able to post a few more shortly.
