coolwanz, I really want to thank you for the effort you put in this and all your submissions but this is still not what I was after. I think it's the font that is still not bold/wide enough for me. Addind that bar beneath the logo is a very nice touch and it adds to the logo without making it complicated, but still, this time is not what I am after. The main reason is still the fact that it's not as easy to read as others.

With all this being said I was really looking forward to your entries, as you are a very talented designer and a master when it comes to choosing an avatar.

 

Agreed with Speno, I joined this competition on the 6th or 7th page purely based on the amount of feedback from the PD. Take note all contest holders

On a second not, thanks for the feedback on my effort, here is a second try that will hopefully be more to your requirements although I have a taken a little risk with the fonts i think!

 

Thanks again for the submission. Yours is in the top three. At this stage I am very clear in my head on the front runners but I still don't have a clear winner.

I must say your designs are the ones that give me the most trouble I think I like yours the best and yet I don't think they are the most suitable. And at the same time I can't get myself to forget about them. I really, really like the font you chose. I am still thinking of your very first submission (wrong colour and yet I just love that font). I think what I liked the best was the font without a background. I am not asking you to submit another one. I will only ask you to do that if you win.

 

Thanks for the changes. Yours is the one I think is the most suitable. It's definitely in my top three. It's not the flashiest and yet it's so easy to read. It's nothing special in a sense and yet it's very pleasant. Actually the more I think about it, the more I like it. Again, even when it's small it still looks so highly visible and easy to read (one of my main priorities). I think it's the most logical choice, and the reason I am not choosing it yet is simply because there are still a couple of other entries that also look good.

 

Hi Speno: you have no idea what a pleasure it is for me to be able to openly criticise, or to put it mildly "to provide feedback". You heard the saying iron sharpens iron. Sadly these days you can't criticise somebody because you may "offend" them. That is why it's so refreshing to deal with tough dudes like yourself who can take it.

Even more refreshing is to deal with dudes who do this as a hobby not just for a living (and this is the impression that I get).

Your last entry is definitely the best one. You just keep on improving. I like what you said when I told you that your first design wasn't quite worthy of the Speno I know: "Don't count me out just yet." Good thing I didn't. Your design is third on my list: very simple, easy to read bold font and that small touch under the word direct where you inserted the web address really does it for me.

I am still considering it and hope to have the final answer in the next few hours.

You have no idea how right you are. It's not just selecting that's hard. One of the hardest part is telling designers that despite their effort their designs still don't match the requirements.

Think about it for a minute: you have all these top guys who put effort and thought into doing a design that the CH wants, and yet I have to tell some dudes three times or more: "Sorry but I don't like them." It's not easy to tell someone who is trying hard to please you that "Again, it's not what I am after".

 

Thanks for the feedback, I did think the font was a little risky - I may give one more go after I finish this sandwich!

Funny thing I was thinking the same about the sandwich Good designer and a fast eater. Maybe should enter a sandwich competition. You never know what other talents you may posess. Just like that little japanese guy who was winning the hot dog eating competition.

 

ASM: thanks for the new design. While it is relatively easy to read it's actually a little too plain. I think the font is the key and the font you chose is not "special" enough. I want a simple logo, but I just think yours is a little plain.

 

Thank you design champion. It's keeping in touch with my demands (wide/bold font, red and white, etc) and somehow not what I am after. It's a great try but still not enough to beat the tough competition.

 

haha well I was half way when I put that up I am a fast eater, though not on the level to get arthritis of the jaw as believe that Japanese guy did!

Guys thanks for the effort. It's nearly midnight in Melbourne and I must be off to bed. I am not kidding you this morning I woke up around 5am thinking about which logo to choose as this is a really big thing for me. I have to print some bags for my protein and they cost a bit so I can't change the logo afterwards.
I think I will declare the winner in about 12-14 hours from now.
