It could be because CH also thinks coolwanz does some cool logos :) The truth be told I tried some other designers that do this type of work and I must say most folks who post here are much better and do better logos than what those guys did. Seems to me you guys have a passion for this while those other guys just do them because they have to ;)

Just as I was replying I realised I didn't introduce myself. Again, thanks Jamess for pointing that out. I am really new at this and got a little frustrated with the designs I got and I thought the best thing to do is ask the designer dudes to do one. Actually it was my wife's idea (sometimes it's good to listen to the wife). I must say once again, I was very pleasantly impressed with the logos you guys do. I just wish I found out about you guys before I tried the other 3 designers. Being totally new at this please feel free to correct me if I am not following certain protocols which I may not be aware of.
    Thanks again.

Once again, thanks for signing up. I look forward to the logos. I must say, judging by what I saw I am really looking forward to this. Also, if you see me posting in places where may not be invited, I am only doing this so I can clock up 50 posts.
I need to have at least 50 posts before I can start a thread. I'd like to do that as later on I may need some smaller logos or buttons, or "approved" stamps etc. that I will need to add to my website. So please put up with me.

Thank you for this demonhale. When Jamess posted my requirement, one of my wishes didn't come through very clearly (not Jamess fault). One of my main requirement was a big, wide font.
Also, I wanted the main colours to be RED and WHITE. Any other colours if you deem necessary, must be very subtle. I don't want to ask you to do any changes just yet. At the moment I am looking at choosing a concept and then when I see one I like I will ask to add the final touches. So I don't want to waste your time, if I am not going to choose your design.

Heres my thought, you said you only want red and white... on what background? If its on red bg, the red text will disappear unless theres an outline color. On a white bg, same story. I can make custom fonts that are wide and big... but I am a bit confused with your briefing...

Thanks for the reply. Once again I am new at this and I am not sure if I can relate what I want. So let me explain a little more: I sell protein (at least I try to). I had some labels designed in a hurry and I went to an expo. The labels weren't flashy but I got a lot of people's attention.

I decided to have better labels which are displayed on my site. I am not allowed to post links yet but you can guess my site is proteindirect.com.au Anyway, I had these proteins with better labels at a bigger show and done very poorly sales wise and attention wise. My guess: the labels didn't stand out. So what I want more than anything is a highly visible logo. You may think red and white has been done to death, but I think these are the best labels I can get. That's why I thought a red and white logo, red and white labels will make my products more visible.

I think your idea with an outline is probably what I need. BTW, I looked at your site and really liked the way you can change the logos by scrolling. Very cool.

Let me know if I am making sense, or if there's anything unclear because I hate to waste other people's time.

Ok, thanks for checking my site out and for your responses that could help you to achieve a better design as some designers will read our correspondence so far.

By Comparison, I have submitted two styles which isn't actually a direct submission, but more into testing the waters on what kind of logo you would like. Both don't have logo icons, they are only logo types, meaning stylized texts. Do you want a symbol as well? What are the general thoughts on the submission and what do you feel could work for your branding? You will be using the logo on your labels as well, so its best that some of the important thoughts are discussed first to achieve the branding of choice.

    Thank You.

OK, with the risk of repeating myself (I am only doing this so you can understand more about what I am after), I am after a Simple, Wide, Bold, Highly Visible (if palced among many other logos it needs to be easily read) Red and White logo. I think that adding an object or symbol is not necessary, but it could make the logo look better. However, I want to stick to the wide, bold (visibility) font more than anything.

For example, I like fonts such as mentos (the lolly), Canon (printer) and OKI (also printers). My only challenge is these are one word logos, while mine is made up of several words.

I like more the second one you done, because it's simpler and has is red and white, but I am not sure about the gradient. Although I want something simple and perhaps without an icon or a symbol, I still want a logo. What I mean is perhaps a small twist to make it "unique". Perhaps something as small as making the dot on the i square (even though the font may be round). Or maybe doing something to the o in the protein. Hope this helps.
