collegerut: #30 again, I like the font but the rest of the logo doesn't seem to go well together. I Think it would look better if you ditched the star and just simply drew a rectangle around the font and add an American flag as a background. This is just a suggestion but again, while I like the font I don't think the star goes well with it

lefty: #34 Thanks for the new entry. It is a step in the right direction but not quite there. The concept is great but the execution is lacking something. It's definitely heading in the right direction even though it's not quite there. the reason it's not quite there is because it needs to look a little more modern so perhaps adding some effects to the font. Again, these are just my thoughts. I am not asking for changes, I am just giving my feedback.

offiri0: #35 first one I like. I very much like that simple rectangle and I think that if you could somehow built some American theme into it I would choose it as a winner. I don't like the idea of having it on an angle on top of the American flag. I like the simple rectangle but without the flag because with the flag in the background it looks a little too much. Second one I also like and I am debating which one of these two I like more. Though none of them I would choose right now, I feel like both of them have perhaps the strongest potential once you do some changes. I like them both because they are simple and easy to read. But in this second one it needs to have the text a little more balanced because the text appears too little on the rectangle so the text would need to be made bigger to fill up more of the rectangle. Also the colours in this second one are much better as in the one above they look a little faded.

Emartin: thanks for taking part in this. However, your designs are not what I am looking for. I need something with a more corporate look and yours look a little cartoonish. The icon while creative hasn't got that corporate look I am after. If you want to give it another shot go for something more corporate.

matchstick: again thanks for the great effort but I don't think you got what I am after. This new one looks a little too complicated. The main focus should be on the text and the text should be the most visible part of the logo. That is why I like a simple clean look. When I look at yours, my main attention seems to be diverted to the icon rather than the text.

watari: great to see you again and thanks for the great entries. The first one has a bit of a web2 look to it and I want to stay away from that. I need something more corporate looking. If you removed the web2 feel from the word American and perhaps if you made a simpler A and somehow apply some bevel or emboss it would be enough to modernise it and perhaps that would be it. Second one also needs to look more corporate. The effect you used for the word American certainly looks American but it is just a touch too American. Maybe you can keep this layout but try a different font for American and bevel or emboss everything else so it looks a little more modern.

xaralee: wow, thanks for following my advice. it looks good. Because you added the flag into the text I think you need to remove the flag from the background. Also make the text a little wider/bigger to fill up more of the empty space (there is a bit of empty space on the sides). Looks good though.


patricksia: this new one looks good. I am not sure about the circle and the rectangle going together though. The rectangle itself looks good: simple and stylish and elegant though perhaps a little plain. The background for the circle though looks great. So I don't know which one to go for because I like certain elements in both though. Maybe just use the circle background for the rectangle or just keep the rectangle as it is and add some bevel or emboss effect to the letters to give it a little more modern look.

xaralee, once again thank you for the new submission. I think I made a MAJOR stuff up. I like everything about your logo except my silly suggestion of putting the flag in the text. I think it makes the font very hard to read. Again, this is entirely my fault. The way grade a milk is looks good but American with the flag inbuilt in it looks a little messy. I also think that web2 effect needs to be removed so to have a clean plain background as it would look more corporate. I'm really sorry about my stuff up.

offiri0: not sure why you placed it on an angle. It would look better in a normal flat position. I like that it looks nice and simple and it's also easy to read and also looks American. At the same time I still think there is something missing to give it that winning look. I am not sure what's missing but perhaps it needs to look a little more modern somehow.

IM3D: thanks for the entries. I really like your style and was hoping you would enter this contest. let me start in reverse with the bottom one: my first thought was it looks like a number plate. It looks good but I can't shake this number plate thing out of my head. The first entry though looks good and it's got that IM3D creativity in it which I like in your designs. The only downside is I would like perhaps to have American Grade A Milk stand out a little more and made exclusively from to appear slightly less visible. American Grade A milk should be the main part and while it still is the main part I still think it needs to come through a little more.

l3fty: thanks for the new try but it's still not one of your great designs I'm used to seeing. I just don't think it looks corporate and the gradients don't make it better than the previous one. It's a great concept and has potential but it's a poor execution. The position of the flag looks like it's got too many stripes and the frame also doesn't look corporate enough. You would also need to make it more compact perhaps by placing Grade A Milk on one line so the whole logo won't be as tall. I am not asking for changes, I am only providing feedback. To see what I mean by a more corporate look, please look my posted image #14 in this thread.

matchstick, thanks again for the new try and for your perseverance. It's a tough one to judge because in a way it's so close and at the same time it's also far from what I am after. I like the icon at the top. I like the oval shape but I don't like the font and background. I personally don't like gradients much. I think it would look better with a simpler backgroung like in my posting #14 (this thread) and also needs a more flat/wide/bold font.

nwsn3twrkshp: thank you for the entry. It's got style and creativity but not quite there. I like the idea with the cow but it's not suitable. Takes too long to explain but I prefer not to have a cow. Also the way it is displayed my son was reading it: "Made exclusively from a cow. What does that mean?" Yours is a great concept and very creative but perhaps just a touch cartoonish and I am after something more corporate. Please don't misunderstand me: it is a great logo and I honestly like it, but I can't use it because I need something more corporate. I appreciate the effort but it's not what I am after. Let me explain what I am after: I want something more corporate looking. Please go to my post #14 in this thread and look at that logo. That is what I call a corporate and modern looking logo. That logo does not look like a cartoon at all and looks very modern.
Of your entries I really liked the one with a rectangular shape. I think all you had to do was perhaps place a very fainted image of an American flag and leave everything else as it is. I want something similar to your middle entry #18. Just use that rectangle and that font and just simply use a very faded image of an American flag for a background. The more I look at your entries the more I like the simple ones with the rectangular shape. If I still don't make any sense please ask me. I don't want to waste your time with futile attempts especially if my explanations don't make sense.

offiri0: yes, yes, and yes. Definitely in the right direction. I understand your dilemma with the flag. I think the solution would be to make the flag more faded so the letters would be easier to see. Even as it is now it still looks good.

xaralee: Definitely in the running. At the moment the top two are yours and offiri0. I like the top one with the American flag in it. I may need a small alteration but I will only ask for that if no one else enters and once I decide on the finalists. The alteration would be small but definitely your logo is in my top two. The second entry without the flag looks a little plain but the one with the flag is really good.

Hmm... maybe I wasn't clear again. You just darkened the flag a little which is still good. What I meant by fading it is something where the flag appears blurry and harder to distinguish. Nevertheless your entry is great and it's in the top two at the moment.
