I want a new logo for the site I have just taken over to give it a fresh look to go with the fresh start for the site. The site is an Indie Music site located at: weird ears .com (with no spaces) I kind of like the colors the site (not the logo) is currently using but if you can make something else look good I am open to anything. I would also like a little character doing, the idea I have is a cartoon style monkey wearing big headphones. This would be ongoing because I would need him in different poses. You can do the character or the logo or both if you want to make them fit in together. I couldn't think of a prize amount because I want to see some amazing quality work, so when you submit your entry also add how much you would like as a prize if I use it. Also bear in mind if I choose a winner I will require full rights to the design and would like it provided in high res .PSD or a .AI file. You will be required to reply to an email giving up all rights. Anyone found to be using images they don't own the rights to will be instantly dismissed from the contest. I WILL NOT be giving improvement suggestions on any submitted design if I want minor changes I will ask for them when I choose the winner. I feel it would be unfair of me to make you do more work if I am not going to be paying you. And I should be able to tell from the quality of your intial designs if you will be able to create what I want. In the event I don't find a design I actually like I will pay SET $50.00 to what I feel was the best attempt and I won't require the design as it would be unfair of me to do so. For character drawing, I highly recommend CameoAnderson. She is a fantastic artist and made one for me in numerous poses. I hope she enters this contest

I can make the body aswell, but now I'm going to bed. I don't know the price yet. I have to see what other people are charging.
I have a couple questions: Can I use flash? (It is vector, but not AI... although I may beable to export to an AI). And do I need to stick with the colortheme? I have several character ideas drawn but wanted to check on this first.
Here is the character design I have created. Now I was thinking of adding microphone, some music notes, shades, headphones (some, one, two, or all of them I don't know) but I wanted to see if this character was something you were interested in first. He'll cost $75 if you are. $15 for additional poses. (Not counting re-dos to the first one). Oh and I have logo design ideas (including him) that I will post here. You will get whatever logo I come up with free of charge (assuming you take the monkey and like the logo) or you may have the character separately. That's up to you.
Magnus: Its a good attempt but not really what I meant by cartoony. Ariestoteles: I really like it and so does my GF (you know the influence they have on decisions) you need to also provide your price CameoAnderson: It is the sort of style of character i wanted but needs to be more relevant, doesn't HAVE to be a monkey I just like them, but is DOES have to have a music related theme of some sort. As long as it is vector it can be imported to AI so that is fine and no you can do what ever colors you feel will look best.
Swaymedia: Unfortunalty I don't wan't a background as the logo is going to be used on different media for promotion i.e. business cards, t-shirts, flyers etc etc. Also I should have mentioned we are changing the slogan to: "It's all about the music" Thanks for your entry though.
