Hi Kia, thanks for the entry. I really like the visibility of the number 1. That is the greatest strength of your design. It looks really visible. But...I actually prefer to use however However...it looks a little cartoonish and a little old style. I was hoping for something a little more modern and corporate. I also like the colours that you used: gold and black which creates a lot of visibility. But I really need something more modern.

Davey: thanks for the entry. Looks great, but at the same time I was expecting a little more from a big gun such as yourself The design overall looks good but just a little too sporty for me. I was after something more corporate.

Turns: I think the concept is great but it is poorly executed. I like how you placed 1 in the middle making it the focus of attention, but 1 would have to be bolder somehow and the rest of the design needs to be more corporate like. Perhaps if you tried a different font and a different colour.

 

No problem, just thought i'd do a quick entry Can't afford to spend too much time on it for this prize. Good luck to everyone though, hopefully someone will get PD his corporate look!

I understand entirely. At the same time you must also understand that after doing that great super logo for daily blog, CH like myself expect more from DaveyBoy

 

I do understand that, but although i'm not one to 'try harder' on the more lucrative contests, the time factor does mean you get better results the more you pay - not to mention, you tempt the better designers to enter as well.

If i spent more time on it, i'm sure I could make it better but on this occasion my schedule for the day doesn't allow it.

Davey, I see what you mean. Money is an issue for us all. I happen to think, that even if you got paid more you still couldn't improve on that daily blog logo. Some things just cannot be done.
I thought this contest would be a fairly simple one: a big number 1 with the rest of the sentence around it or next to it, or beneath it, etc. I thought this would be more like one of those where you hit the target with one shot. But then again I am not a designer.

Turns: I would stick with the one with 1 in the middle. After all, the focus should be on number 1. I can't give you a specific font,but for example the last design has a 1 in it which looks good thickness wise but the 1 could also be confused with an l (letter l). The text around it looks good but it's not visible. As a suggestion you could try a golden text and 1 and a black circle or vice versa.

jboo: try to make the 1 the center of attention. All of your designs are hard to read, so maybe you need to change the font or the text colours to make them more visible. I honestly don't want to waste your time, but remember the focus must be on number 1. This is the most important aspect of the whole design.

shib, I don't think any of them are working. They are still a little too crowded. The number 1 which is the main part/the most important aspect of the logo still isn't big enough. Try something simpler (that is of course if you still want to continue) such as a big, bold number 1 as the main thing and then position the text around it.

Karmy: thanks for the entry. I like the fact that number 1 is highly visible even in a small image. That is good, however, the rest of it is not. For example number one should appear only once. In your case it appears twice, so you may want to reposition the text. At the same time while number 1 is highly visible, your design looks a little cartoonish and I was after something more corporate.

Good try karmy but I need something more modern, more up to date. You did position the text a lot better so it is easier to read, but it still needs that contemporary/modern touch.

Sb, no hurry. I intend to keep this going for at least another couple of days or so.
