LOGO / BADGE / ICON contest $20 for the winner $10 second place

proteindude again. A very simple contest that anyone can participate in.
I need some type of a logo, or icon, or badge, or ribbon to say the following: Supplied by Australia's #1 protein manufacturer. It could also say Supplied by Australia's number one protein manufacturer (no need necessarily for the # in front of 1)

It could be some type of a logo, or a badge, or a shield, or a banner as long as it looks professional and corporate.

You don't have to use the Australian flag but you can. I am more interested in making sure #1 or 1 is displayed more proeminently.

The one thing I don't like is a web 2.0 look as this has to look corporate and professional. You can use whatever colours you want as long as it looks corporate and professional. This will go on a website in a small format so try to make it visible even if small.

The winner gets $20 via paypal and second place gets $10

Thanks for the entry shib. I think it looks a little too cartoony. I need something corporate that will also look visible in a small size. You also tried to pack too much into this design. It can be either a badge, or a logo or an icon. It does NOT have to be all three but just one of them.

Hello Pigbait and thanks for the entry. I hope you can understand the purpose of feedback which is to help you improve and not to criticise or put down your designs. I am only mentioning this as I understand you're on the younger side around here so I want to make sure you know what I mean.

Your design unfortunately does not meet my requirements. I was after something more simple and more corporate/professional. You also tried to pack too much into this design. It can be either a badge, or a logo or an icon. It does NOT have to be all three but just one of them.

I think if you try and simplify it it will look better. Also remember, this will appear in a small format so it has to be readable.

I'm a short timer on this board, but I been around the forums. thanks for the feedback. Try this, much simpler. Also, what size will it be so I can make sure the text is readable?
and it is vector so resizing is no trouble.

It's not really a logo yet it could be. If you pick up a bottle of wine, some of them have a small badge, or a logo, or a medal, something that says: winner of blah, blah, blah. Anyway, this logo or badge or medal adds credibility. This is something that I am after. Just something to symbolyse #1 with the rest of the sentence added : Supplied by Australia's #1 protein manufacturer.

A similar one you can see on my website (I am too embarassed to show it) but here is the link: http://www.proteindirect.com.au/products.html You will see a yellow and black "badge, or logo, or mini banner or whatever you want to call it".

Pigbait, you are getting better and cleaner but it's still not something that I am after. I need something more corporate, more professional looking.

Thanks for the entry sb. I am not always around the computer so I can't always reply straight away. The first problem with your design is the fact it doesn't have the number one as in 1. This 1 needs to be seen. It also is a little hard to read and I am sorry to say it it still doesn't have that corporate look I am after. It also looks a little too crowded.

I am after something simpler and more corporate.

PigBait: thanks for the changes. I see you can take feedback so here it is. The negative is it still looks cartoony and doesn't have the corporate look I am after. The positive is it is definitely better than the previous one even though it's not what I am after. Bottomline: it's getting better but still not what I am after.

To be honest you did say in your first post that it can say 'number one' instead ;)

True DaveyBoy. We can argue it both ways :) I said there is no need for the # in front of 1 even though the sentence before says: "It could also say Supplied by Australia's number one protein manufacturer (no need necessarily for the # in front of 1)."

So, for the sake of making sure there is no confusion, it should say 1 by showing the number.

    Here is my first attempt.

Having troubles inserting my images. I'm using imagecabin.com as my host and copying the URL code they generate and then pasting that in the box that pops up when you press the insert image button. ANy help will be much appreciated.

In the mean time I'll just attach the images.

Hi turns!! I think you have to have a certain amount of posts before you can add images. I believe it's only 10 posts.

sb: Much better but still not what I am after. Your design while it has improved considerably it still lacks that number 1 look. It looks much much better visibility wise, it looks cleaner but it's still too crowded and still hasn't got the corporate look. You are definitely improving.

jboo: thanks for the entry. It's an interesting concept but is not too visible, especially since it will be displayed in a small size. Maybe if you made the contrast more, then it will be more visible.

turns: thanks for the entry. It looks too dark, which makes it hard to see. However, it looks modern in a way. I am not sure how you can improve it.

And now for a general observation: I want this to convey the image of quality (number 1). Perhaps you can make the number 1 more visible or the principal focus of the image. Hope this helps.
