Logo and design contests

We are currently running a logo contest on sitepoint for surfing san diego
http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268625
and the quality of logogs submitted is great.

Would it be a good idea to have contests going on here or would it require too much moderator work?

I personally love the contests idea, but do we have enough designers here to actually get and keep them going?

 

Maybe not, but a contest section could motivate them to come here.

 

How would you motivate the people that start the contests to follow them up *cough cough*

My post was a bit of a friendly dig at ST as I was doing a logo contest for him on another forum and he dissappeared

I think the logo contests are well catered for over at sitepoint, its not as if this site needs the exposure, not that it wouldn't be a good idea, just that its done there so there's no need and sitepoint "I think" has a wider base?

I am guessing that this forum is more seo/tools than design, yes coding but I dont think this forum deals with design/graphics too much to justify it.
