Can OptiGold be configured to login to Plesk and add email accounts? Since Plesk uses a https connection..is this do able?
Just a update from our hosting provider.. Unfortunately what you are asking for is not something that we are choosing not to provide, but rather something which due to Plesk's current design can not be offered. The reason the scripts you have found require root access is that mail users are not simply stored in a database, they have to have physical folders created in the mail server directory and have entries added to the mail server software which can only be done with root access. We were hoping that with the release of the Plesk API that email accounts could be created however this was not an option provided, although we hope that the upcoming release of Plesk 8 may do so. If there was any way to permit your software to create email accounts we would do what we could to help, unfortunately at this time it's simply not possible.
No reason Optigold couldn't automate the issuing of the same commands that a person would issue from the command line. Why not create something in Optigold to SSH into the remote server, login as root, and issue the appropriate commands that way?
I would like to be able to have opti add email accounts to plesk...but without using a shell account..which i dont have.. I cant find a way to do it... adding emails are the only thing we have not been able to opti to do.. .. I have tried using http ..but plesk is https...and when I tried to trigger the event it says wrong URL.. I'm looking for a hosting company that will or can support us ..using opti..
