    Hey guys,

I'm looking to put a log in system with user name and password on my website which people obviously have to register to use. I have already spent a bit on my website and want to start cutting costs so I don't go bankrupt before the site has even opened :p.

Is it worth looking for a free script that would allow me to do this or am I just better of paying the money for a proper script?

Also if possible could you please refer me to sites that will sell me this product or a site where I can get it for free as I want to keep all options open. Also if anyone has used one before and can recommend it.

    Thanks in advance,
    Max :)

Its always best to make a login system for your site from scratch.

They are extremely easy to make, depending on if you want all the bells and whistles.

These are the key things you will need.

    MySQL Database
    PHP v4.1 +

You will utilise using sessions, and using some basic conditional statements to check records against a mysql database.

Also hash your passwords in the database using md5 or sha1.
