Logical importance of Google PR is gone now...???

Since Jan. 2008, i am noticing that Google Toolbar PR and IBL's are updating each and every month or one and half month.

Do you all people still think that still Google PR carries Logical importance.

I feel now, it does not.

Sure, PR is one of the most important factors to rank websites in Google.
No matter if they are exporting PR values to the G-Toolbar once a month, or once a year..

PR is important in maximum cases

 

PR is still important but the factors it's depending on are changing

 

PR is a recognition from a authority site like Google for your site. It does have some value.

 

PR is updated very often on the backend. Only the visible PR is updated after a while. May be Google wants to make things faster for webmasters, as more and more new sites are made.

 

traffic is more important.... if you got a good pr... it doesn't mean you have a good traffic.

 

Websites with higher pr get crawled more often by google.

at least, I must say PR is not depending only on backlinks now.

coz I have seen many sites/pages/blogs which don't have enough backlinks but still have good PR.

If PR has any value then Google has no value. 10 day old sites getting PR of 3? across the board I have never seen so many new sites with low to no back links and little content getting PR. I think page rank is going by way of Alexa they are both useless indicators now.

 

Very true. My website is 2,5 years old and it still has Pagerank 0.

 

it means google is changing again and it is another job for webmaster to find out what else behind backlink is added factor for having good pr.

 

Google is getting better at tracking relevancy and quality of incoming links. As a result, I've noticed that PR is counting less and the quality of the back links is counting more. PR is still a factor, but isn't too important anymore.

I sometimes wonder, if PR is irrelevant why Google discourages and sometimes punishes paid links. Can there be any other reason than that good PR links still count?
