I'm trying to understand the logic in the way something is run, let me explain.

Before I start, please understand this is not a rant/flame/complaint nothing like that, so if this is closed or something else.. I will again be dumbfounded and braintweaked by the logic of DP.

    Now, follow me.

So, there's no Bumping on DP. Completely understandable; obviously.
And, there's no double posts. Again, completely obvious and correct.

There are 71,263 Active Members on DP. The odds that any and every thread being either overlooked or burried are pretty damn high.

So someone creates a thread which is important to them, say a selling of a site or a script request or a question they need answered, anything at ALL. There are a few posts, but the post starter is completely unsatisfied by the thread as either the question didn't get answered, no sale is made, no request is met, etcetc.. Basicaly, the whole point of the thread is burried because, for example in B/S/T, if after 1-2 days there are no posts in the thread, nobody will ever look at the thread again as it's like 5 away now. Therefore, the whole reason that person is active at DP for that day or whatever... Is pretty much now pointless and useless.

So, now what? You can't bump the thread, and even within a week you can't create a new thread about the same topic. Even if the post is completely different, just about the same topic, you can't do anything about it.

Well, what's the point of posting a thread; with so many active members, you personally cannot keep it alive, and odds are, it won't be successful if you want it to last over a day or two.

So, that person came to DP, logged in to this amazing site, followed the rules and contributed to the community - and now, the whole reason of activity is now null, as the topic you wanted to be active is now not.

I can make 5 topics anywhere in B/S/T, and if my price is too high or whatever the reasoning is, whether good or bad, unless it's "$100 FOR FREE!", the requirements/criteria of my expectations won't be met in any case.

I do not understand the logic in this. Would someone mind explaining what I can possibly do, if the reason I log in to DP is to do my business (whatever it is) and it can't be successful; not because of me, but because of the forum being so active, and because there is a logic problem with the rules/guidelines of the forum?

I started a thread, it got burried and within 2 days is on page 2390714, within a week I start a thread about the same topic (a site sale) because the previous is dead and can't be bumped, and I recieve an infraction for it.

Don't get me wrong, I don't care that I recieved a infraction. Rules are rules, and one was broken. I understand the rules and guidelines of DP completely... But seriously, mods, or anyone else... Think about it, what if you were in the shoes of someone struggling with this? I mean, there is so much feedback about this in this section of the forum, isn't it obvious that so many people aren't bitching, not ranting or flaming, but are simply trying to point out that there's a slight problem that could use re-adjustment? Maybe allow new threads after a week in B/S/T? Just.. anything in any way so we can bypass this logic loophole that doesn't even make sense.

    Thanks for reading.

    Have a good day,

    -Yuriy

The way it is right now is more or less the "least bad option". Hopefully the future options will be less bad than the existing options.

Better solution is just start a thread in BST and link to it in your signature so no need to bump your thread as well as start another duplicate thread.

As don said, link to it in your signature.

Closing the thread (logic being this issue has already been discussed and debated in other threads here).
