Hi all. I was wondering about something and am curious to see if anyone has an answer. If I have a link on a site that requires you to sign in to access your account, does Google crawl the page? Is Google able to crawl the page due to the login. I look forward to your responses.

I have been checking around and have been told that if the page can be viewed publicly, Google will crawl it even if it has a login. Is that not correct?

pm me the page and il have a look

It depends whats in the robotst.txt as to whats crawlable, for instance the links on a facebook profile are not but facebook pages are

If it can be viewed without a login then yeh google should be able to but they might have a meta noindex in there so google wont see it

u can only get backlink form a page that is indexed in search engines. restricted pages requiring login are not indexed therefore cannot give you backlinks
