Location targeting question... HELP needed!

    Hi All,

    I'm just trialling out some location targeted ads & can't find an answer anywhere to a query I have regarding it...

    Basically, if I am targeting 2 location areas approx 30-35 miles apart & set my ad radius to 20 miles from each location there will be an overlapping area that could fall into either location.

    So what will happen to these locations mentioned, which fall into each of the radius areas? My hunch is that adwords will display the ad which is nearest to the location centre - i.e. Point A is 24 miles from location X, Point B is 27 miles from location X, outcome = Show ad relevant to Point A. I just can't seem to confirm this theory anywhere though, so thought I'd ask on here...

    Hope that makes some sort of sense!

    Thanks in advance for any help,

    Best,

    Ben (Gadginho).

    Maybe i'm not explaining myself well enough :confused: ...

    I'll attempt a little demo below: -

    ..........A---------------------------------->
    .........................................X
    .....................................<----------------------------------B

    In theory, which ad will be displayed in location 'X'... ad 'A' or ad 'B'??? As you can see location 'X' is covered by both the radii of 'A' & 'B', yet is closer to the central point of 'A'...

    To me, the answer would simply be ad 'A'. But am I wrong? I'm yet to confirm this. HELP!

    My intuitive guess is that this would depend on the relevancy of the respective ads. I don't know whether or to what degree Google factors in physical proximity as part of their relevancy, even for location ads.
