Localized marketing a problem?

I am planning to launch a site geared towards particular type of affiliates. My current issue is, will an affiliate company suspect anything if a lot of the signups coming are from local traffic (meaning traffic originating from the same area in which i live/on my account info). I ask this because I am going to do some physical advertising on my campus to drive traffic to the site, and if I am getting a lot of sales/leads from the same area I'm from will they suspect anything?

I know this may sound stupid, but It was just something that came to mind about taking a precaution before implementing my marketing plan.

Affiliates companies will love the lead you give them, I don't think they will care where it comes from. The only reason people give affiliates is to get lead through others.
    Good luck to your venture!

You have to start somewhere in terms of driving traffic to your site. It's a catch 22: without traffic you cannot make money but when you first start out, you have nothing. It's the same in my market.

You have to get creative sometimes.
