i want to have higher relevancy for searches in china so i'm going with a .cn address. However i've heard that the location of the hosting mattters and i dont particulary want to host here. If i hosted in hong kong will that count for local relevancy? Or do i have to host on the China Mainland?

Any particular reason you do not want to host in China itself ?

Does the location of the hosting matter for the countrie's searches or for Google in general?

No, it dont think the hosting matters.... Just make sure you have the .cn domain b/c China is policing all websites esp. foriegn ones.

Yea, I don't see google being biased on where you're hosted.
