Local SEO in Boulder and Denver Colorado

What you wrote reminded me of something I wanted to check into GOOGLE LOCAL MAPS. In Denver, the car donation places FAKING that they are charities use keywords and register themselves on the maps, and don't even operate a business in those locations. I am now in Boulder, and the same crap is happening out here. Search and check on some local marketing, and boom....Map Results above everything, high than organic, higher than paid results....what the heck, how can Google's search results be "superior" to Bing's, when the entire area "above the fold" is maps?

I mean, it doesn't bother me that people use techniques, but the relevance of Google local search is meaningless. People say "Just report it." We;;, don't you think people "do" report it? Of course, people report it.

This is a blatant example, with articles that were buried, with their customer support "telling" me that are not even located in Denver. There is a picture of NOWHERE on their Google+ Business Profile and thousand of comments on their page....about how giving their dead beat up car to charity changed their lives. Does anyone really believe, that a freaking towing company masquerading as a charity would have thousands of comments about that? About giving a piece of crap vehicle rotting in their yard?, by people with names that don't match, and addresses that don't match the names? I don't think so...

Google Local Map Results Getting More Hyperlocal?

Over the past couple weeks, I've been seeing sporadic reports from some local SEO experts that the local results are becoming more "hyperlocal" and/or fewer results are showing for local specific queries... https://www.seroundtable.com/google-local-results-getting-more-hyperlocal-22387.html

I went on Quora to ask, but I don't seem to be able to make the question short enough, it always says it needs to be rewritten.

It's just a bit bizarre that it just continues to seem like something Google doesn't really have a solid answer for...and even more so for small niches that probably aren't real high up on the priority list.

Those attached examples are not limited to that part of Colorado, they have the same thing for all of the large counties in the state...
