    Yes a search engine is global but if it shows only local results only people from that place will use it, and it will rank in other search engines only for local searches, at the end it is a local search engine. Anyway if the place is a little small a search engine would be too big of an effort IMHO, better go for a website directory or a local social network for business something or a small version of craigslist

    Let me explain.. I have Local Area Network in my office with 90 PCs. Among these 90 PCs, I have 10 servers and on these servers I have created websites. So I have total 10 websites on network which can be accessed by their IP addresses. Now I want to create a search engine which can search these 10 websites which are installed on LAN.
    I hope I have made my point simpler now..
