    Hello Everyone,
I am going to start marketing local here in my state to appeal my service to more the local crowd.

I was just curious what everyone though were some of the best marketing tactics for local advertising.

    • Door to Door Soliciting
    • Phone Marketing
    • Mail Marketing
    • Flyer Advertising
    • Radio Ads
    • Newspaper Ads

Please let me know what you guys think are some of the best and most successful forms of marketing, and please feel free to say anything that I may have left out.

Flyer advertising and newspaper ads... I would say radio, but it could be too costly. However if you live in a larger city, then I would say it's worth a shot.

Stay away from any mail/phone/door-to-door... people don't respond real well, unless if your service/product is truly something they need or interested in.

    Hope that helps some.

    I would add:
-Providing content for your local newspapers: this will yield better results than advertising, it is free and it makes you appear as an expert in your specific field. Same thing for talking at local conferences or providing interviews to the local radio or tv station
    -Sponsoring local community events
-Cross marketing with local non-competing or complementary firms

    hi,

look into it first see what will be cost effective but for local marketing i would choose radio or tv as it quickly rreaches peopel and brands straight away.

If this is for your web dev company you could also put on a free seminar for local businesses who would like to take their brick & mortar company online. You could find a high school or college student to assist you (a project for them maybe) and they could even help invite the companies via flyer. Pay them $1 ... or $5 per attendee (or whatever the numbers look like for ROI). Good luck with it. *SmiLes* Suzanne

Apart from advertising, let your area people be the advertising agents for your products... How? It's simple, your quality service will make them interested to broadcast about you to other people, that's enough.. Hope it will spread out and your market will be growing...
