Hello I have a very small gig and I'm trying to think of new marketing ideas. My market is basically within 1 hour of my area at this time. My main marketing source comes from Craigslist which is free and works good.

I tryed making signs and I put them on Telly poles (which is illegal I think) and it did a little better then broke even. I also had an add in a small bargain hunter paper. That ad was doing well and I had in a section which was very cheap and we'll worth it. We'll the second time around they wanted me to pay a much higher price because it was a business ad. I thought the cost prob wasn't gonna be worth it so I didn't do it.

I'm very conservative at this point the little business did 19k in sales and net profit was 3.5k which comes out to about 18%. I think by next year with some new tweaks it can actually be closer to 30%.

I have seen local businesses putting ads in the paper placemats that some local restaurants use (I believe that the restaurants get them free or really cheap as they are paid for by the advertising.) We also have a small local weekly newspaper that a lot of local businesses run ads in. Some grocery stores and the local library have community bulletin boards that you can often get permission to post on.

Look up all the local newspapers and magazines around and find other places to advertise, I don't know what's available in your area. Where I live, there are dozens of places to advertise and I have many options for targeting the right audience. If you want to advertise online then try AdWords. Get listed in all the different business directories for your area as well, and then you should be golden.
