Local host didn't work

    hi all :),
    I have downloaded the apache web server from http://httpd.apache.org/download.cgi
    after i got the set up, I installed it. At the time of installation it demanded the name of the network, and domain name and email adress.
    I filled the form "localhost", "mydomain" and my email adress respectively. After successful installation when I typed "localhost" in IE6, the page didn't show anything, it was a page load error.

    Could you suggest me what could be the problem here.

    Did you start apache?

    Do netstat -a and paste output here

    Check in your error log for apache (located in the install directory logs/)

    If that doesn't contain anything, try viewing your Windows event viewer after attempting to start apache. It will tell you any problems. Paste the output here and I can assist.

    If so, restart apache and propably all ok.Otherwise post the error log
