    Hey Guys,

I'm not expert at this SEO stuff, but the traffic I'm getting is converting fairly well, I just need more traffic. What do you guys think, do I just need more links? For the keyword "personal trainer spokane" and "spokane personal trainer" I'm consistently coming around 4 and 5.

My question is how can that be when I have many more links and pages than the top sites?

    Here's my site: http://www.physzique.com

    Please help, thanks!!

Took a quick look and the kind of blue you used at the menu button hurts my eyes. Well, your content is good and you need to make it better. You have a lot to do with SEO and Adwords. Best of luck! :)

I don't like websites that look like long come on ads.....but I have a good bit of experience with local sites.

localized phrases like personal trainer spokane, etc. just don't get a huge volume of traffic.

By example I have one business site that ranks high for the generic terms....like personal trainer in all 3 engines and ranks high for all the local variations of the phrase...ie personal trainer spokane. It has had a #1 ranking in Yahoo for years for the main industry term and it has #1 rankings for the local variations.

So if the site picked up 500-1000 visits from Yahoo in a month for the industry term, call it personal trainer, even with #1 rankings for personal training spokane, it might at best get 25-30 visits/month for the local version.

Simply the local version of the phrase on its own is simply not heavily trafficked.

The antidote is to create two types of widespread keyword expansion.

    1. Provide keyword expansion on all secondary terms off of personal trainer. Do it for all types of terms that are related to exercise, if at all possible with your center. Every term under the sun.

    2. Do keyword expansion for your geographic terms. I don't know the Spokane geography but I'd add content for the city name the state, nearby towns, counties, neighborhoods and even zipcodes. I'd change the content to reflect those changes.

The net results of doing that are that even though the best I might do for a single phrase comparable to "personal trainer Spokane" is about 20-40/visits in a month-the aggregate of all the secondary terms and all the geographic terms adds to between 1-2,000/month in relevant combinations of relevant industry terms and relevant geographical terms.

The secondary terms don't convert as well as the single most focused term....but in aggregate I get dramatically more conversions.

I practised this for years, but realistically, one of the number 1 people in the SEO world, who incidentally ran one of the mini local search engines for about 2 years, a guy by the industry name of BakedJake preached this to the industry. Not only was he a very well respected SEO guy, but by the time he left the Local engine for his next position he was seeing about 30,000 industry search terms/day for all kinds of businesses.

    He absolutely preached keyword expansion.

    Good luck.

    Dave

No offence mate but that is one ugly looking website! My advice is to pretty much start again.

Thanks Dave, that is great info. I've been trying somewhat like that, with words like spokane wedding, spokane weight loss, spokane health, spokane health insurance. I was actually in the top 10 for all these keywords. Then all of a sudden I dropped to like bottom 100 for several. Kinda discouraged me how they are so random like that.
