Hello, I have a question about localized SEO. Here are two examples. Although it's a real domain, it's not mine, I just want to use it as an example. http://www.losangelescatering.com/sandwiches and http://www.losangelescatering.com/los-angeles-sandwiches ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My question is how does Google and other search engines rank these? Both have the term "Los Angeles" but the second one has it written out again. So if someone types in "Los Angeles Sandwiches," which one is preferable? Are there any pros and cons? Thank you
This sort of gets into implicit and explicit queries which, google is pretty good at sorting out these days. I am a tad swamped but can tell you that this is more so, if not additionally, a google maps and review sorta scenario as well. http://moz.com/blog/the-future-of-user-behavior-whiteboard-friday. To try to specifically answer your question.... the urls will not make much of, if any difference at all. Hence, you are left with http://www.losangelescatering.com/los-angeles-sandwiches looking pretty ghetto. Think of it as trying too hard.... to worrying about things you shouldn't. hope that helps a bit. Nigel
